In a year featuring eight competitive nominations, Valley Vax has been named the 2026 Massachusetts Adult Immunization Champion. Born from an informal discussion among Hampshire County providers concerned about rising misinformation, the coalition quickly expanded to include stakeholders from Amherst, Hadley, Northampton, and Franklin County. By launching ValleyVax.org, the group created a science-based digital hub tailored specifically for the Pioneer Valley, featuring trusted local voices like Dr. John Snyder and Amherst Public Health Director, Kiko Malin, to bridge the gap between clinical data and community trust.
The impact of this grassroots initiative was immediate; between its January 2026 launch and mid-February, the site saw over 1,200 visits, with residents flocking to the “Myths & Facts” section and submitting direct questions to coalition members. By linking users to local health departments and resources from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Valley Vax does more than just share data—it provides a direct pathway to immunization. We are proud to honor this coalition for proving that local expertise and authentic connection are the most powerful tools in public health.
